'Green Expo' of Earth-Friendly Products

June 1 - 7, P. Burgos St., in front of City Hall /  Participated in by various exhibitors from cooperatives and other non-government organizations with 'green' products, and industrial entities with their best environmental practices. Public launching of the GreenShoppe Network for Green Entrepreneurship.


'Green Camp'

June 4 - 7, Campus grounds of the Collegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas /  Environment-related activities of the Batangas City units of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of the Philippines (BSP and GSP, both founding member-organizations of the WED-Philippines network.


'Land, Air & Water: Environmental Parade'

June 5, World Environment Day, assembly at 6 a.m., in the Pallocan West Assembly Area / A non-motorized parade to be joined by the multi-sectoral groups, with awards for the Best Float and Best Contingent.


'A Day for Clean Air'

June 5, World Environment Day, carless and smoke-free city the whole day, encouraging walking and biking are encouraged instead.


'Handshakes & Hugs for Earth Synergy'

June 5, World Environment Day, a multi-nationality solemn ceremony centered on the chorused reciting of the poem/prayer "A Giant Leap for Humankind" and culminating in the happy and highly-energized handshakes and hugs by all participants with one another. This is the highlight fellowship activity, timed with similar activities all over the world. (click here for more details.)


Search for 'Lakan at Lakambini ng Kalikasan ng Pilipinas 2009'

June 6, 7 p.m., Batangas Sports Coliseum /  Search among ladies and gentlemen from various cities and provinces of the country vying for the titles Lakan at Lakambini ng Kalikasan equivalent to being ambassadors of goodwill for the Philippine environment.


'Garbo-Forestry

June 7, 7 a.m. at the Old City Dump, Tinga Labao  /  a continuing effort for afforestation and rehabilitation program of Mayor Ed Dimacuha, converting a closed city dump into a green park and wildlife sanctuary.


'WED-Phils. Annual Assembly'

June 7, 1-5 p.m. at the Sangguniang Panglungsod conference hall, Batangas City Hall.  / The 9-year-old nationwide network, the World Environment Day-Philippines (WED-Philippines) network.  The Assembly receives the reports on network-building and other tasks set in previous assemblies, discusses and passes new resolutions, and decides the following year's national site. Other Green Activities

Other activities have been decided for inclusion but have not yet been set for specific schedule dates. These include the following: body movement and aerobic exercises; seminars on eco-spirituality and other topics; formation and planning meetings of various new local groups and networks, like the Green Brigades, Ginikanan para sa Kalikasan, and GreenShoppe Network.   (click here for very detailed flow)
